What makes you the Featured Fan?
I love Promax Cookies n’ Cream bar! It’s my go to post workout snack. When I’m really trying to get through a hard workout it’s what I think about, I use it as motivation because I literally love the flavor that much!

Which Promax bar do you like best?  Cookies n Cream … better than any Oreo I’ve ever had 🙂

Why is Fitness and Nutrition important to you?
Fitness and nutrition is important to me because I wasn’t always in shape or making the best health decisions. I’ve been overweight, I’ve been a drinker and a smoker and a fast food regular. Now that I prioritize my health I feel so much better both mentally and physically. Our bodies are an amazing thing and when you fuel it correctly and train you can accomplish awesome things. Since I changed my health habits I’ve ran 3 marathons, a Tough Mudder and competed in the bikini division of NANBF.

What is one unique thing about you?
I am relentlessly determined. Some may call it stubborn, but when I want to do something I push until I accomplish it. I literally submerge myself in it. For instance, I started running and 6 months later completed my first marathon. When I started lifting I competed in my first bodybuilding competition 8 months later and won Bikini Tall Open and Bikini Tall Novice.

Not fitness related but another fun fact is the first time I went in an airplane I jumped out! Don’t worry, it was planned — I was skydiving and I recommend it to an thrill seeker.

Featured Fan - Chris PlummerWhat makes you the Featured Fan?
I’m 6’1″ and 4 years ago I weighed 310 pounds. I realized that something needed to change, and so I began to take better care of myself. I watched what I ate, started exercising, and over that period of time I’ve lost 80 pounds. While parts of it were extremely successful for me, the hardest part was giving up my sweet tooth. I searched all over for a replacement to candy that would satisfy that craving, and I found it with Promax bars. Not only are they an excellent meal replacement, they curb that craving I have to run out and get a candy bar. It’s really jump started my progress, and I’m excited to lose those last stubborn pounds and continue living a healthy lifestyle.

Which PROMAX bar do you like best?
The original Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough. It combines the best parts of eating a cookie with the best parts of eating a candy bar.

Why is fitness and nutrition important to you?
The men in my family have a long history of heart disease, directly and indirectly related to weight issues. I want to not only live a healthier lifestyle, but I want to be here, happy and healthy, for my own family for many years to come. Proper nutrition and fitness are key in making that a reality.

What is one unique thing about you?
I’m very active with my free time, the biggest things being a podcast I do with a couple of my friends called 1600 Dust, which is about Hearthstone, a competitive card game and I’m the bass player in a local rock band called Metaphorical Lions.

Featured Fan - Joe WilsonWhat makes you the Featured Fan?
I love PROMAX bars. My masters swim coach recommended them to me. A PROMAX bar is perfect after a hard swimming practice. Also, when I’m on the road, an apple and a PROMAX bar make for a complete lunch. When I compete in a swim meet, I always bring one or two bars to eat between races and maybe give one to another swimmer. Plus they taste great.Which PROMAX bar do you like best?
PROMAX Original Double Fudge Brownie.

Why is fitness and nutrition important to you?
As I age, Fitness and Nutrition become more and more crucial. Personally, I have a tendency to put on weight so it’s mandatory. And, if I don’t exercise and eat right, my energy levels are much lower. As an athlete who is keenly aware of health issues, I need to maintain this lifestyle for every imaginable reason including keeping up with my two high-energy dogs who need a lot of exercise. Also, I run in 5K races and compete in masters swimming competitions so it’s all part of the entire package.

What is one unique thing about you?
I’d like to say it’s that I swam from Petit Bateau Island to Jamesby Island and back in the Tobago Cays in the Grenadines, but someone else might have done that also, which would no longer make it unique. I’m in my early 60s and did amazing things in my 50s. At age 54, I did two 7-mile swims on consecutive Sundays while recovering from a quadriceps tendon rupture. One unique thing is my “pyramid philosophy” for athletic training. It’s too detailed to write here but I intend to publish it somewhere soon.

It makes me feel good and strong and helps me to be confident, release stress.

What is one unique thing about you?
I’m in recovery from anorexia/orthorexia and a spinal cord injury but I won’t let anything hold me back! I’m determined to continue battling my obstacles and getting stronger, mentally and physically.

Monique Marks

At 16 years old, trying to find who out you REALLY are is pretty tough. There are always people trying to influence you to do or be something that you’re not, and it’s easy to get caught up in the wrong crowd. I joined a couple of sport teams as a Freshman and Sophomore but didn’t like what I found. Even though I loved the games, most of the teams at my school were just big cliques and I didn’t want to be a part of that. I was looking for a sport that had a great community that could help me find positive friends and amazing inspiration. Then finally, I found rock climbing. The world of rock climbing took my life by storm and I’ve loved every minute of it. Each session is a total body workout, which has challenged me to become a better athlete in every aspect. Now, I’m proud to say that I’ve never been beaten in a pull-up or push-up contest and that I’ve shamed multiple football players at arm wrestling. It’s also led me to some amazing people that I love to be around, and encouraged me to be MY best, which is the total opposite of what I found on my high school teams. So because of rock climbing, I now have a sport that I love, friends that inspire me to be great, and a body that I believe can do anything.

I can’t settle with just one, but I love PROMAX Chocolate Peanut Crunch and PROMAX LS Salted Caramel!

Why is fitness and nutrition important to you?
Fitness and nutrition are important to me because I want to be able to go out and do amazing things with my life. I’ve seen some of my friends get into drugs and completely destroy themselves. They’re sick all of the time, they can’t do anything active, they look terrible, and the only thing that matters to them is their addiction. I’ve hated seeing great people turn into total wrecks, and I don’t want that to ever happen to me. I want to take care of myself and be healthy so that I can live a long life that’s full of fun and amazing adventures.

What is one unique thing about you?
I have three older brothers who’ve been toughening me up since I was small. We would all wrestle, play street hockey and rugby together, and get into trouble at any chance we got.

I’ve played sports all my life, but ate whatever I wanted. It was about my sophomore year of college that I realized that I wanted to make fitness an important part of my life. I was not happy with the way I felt or looked. I have transformed myself into my best self. I love being able to transform my body and prove that you can achieve whatever your mind believes. Being healthy and fit has become a habit and one of the things I love to do. I will never be satisfied and hope to inspire more females to join the fitness world and enrich the minds of the world to know that we can do anything as long as we believe we can!

Why is fitness and nutrition important to you?
Fitness makes me push myself everyday into a place where I achieve all the things I want to. It’s amazing what our bodies can do. I love that I can strive and achieve something that not everyone can. I love seeing where my mind can take me. I want others to believe in themselves and see the potential they have to achieve the impossible.

What is one unique thing about you?
I am a first grade teacher and I bring my beliefs about fitness into the classroom as much as I can. Too many children are being consumed with technology and are not enjoying the world we live in. The obesity epidemic is hitting more and more children and I want to inspire my students to not only be active, but to believe they can achieve anything.

My fitness journey started just about three years ago with working out in my room for 30 minutes a day. I was unsatisfied with being average and decided that I wanted to make change. No more swimming with my shirt on or feeling embarrassed at the beach. I began doing as much research on working out as I possibly could, spending countless hours reading articles and watching workout videos on YouTube. I quickly fell in love with working out, and it wasn’t too long before I had that six pack I’d always dreamed of. I’ve come a long way over the last three years and I am very proud of the progress I’ve made. That being said, I will never allow myself to be satisfied. Instead, I will continue to push myself in my pursuit of creating my best self.

Why is fitness and nutrition important to you?
In addition to pursuing my own fitness goals, I want to help others reach their goals. For this very reason, I decided to major in Exercise Science in college. Not only will I garner a great deal of fitness and nutrition information for myself, but I will be able to use that knowledge to help others reach their full potential and accomplish their fitness goals.

What is one unique thing about you?
Before I began bodybuilding and weightlifting, I was an artist, a BMX rider, and a Parkour and Freerunning enthusiast. Luckily, I truly believe I have finally found my calling.

Colin StrongWhat makes you the Featured Fan?
Where should I start? I’ve always been on the bigger side, consistently made fun of and teased for my weight, growing up. My chest was stretched and affected the most, and it only encouraged others to make jokes about my body. I reached a max weight of 250 lbs. at 28% body fat, in a 5’10” frame. I finally reached a point where I wanted success bad enough in my life, so I started developing my body. After a few ups, downs and plateaus, I reached a checkpoint of 177 lbs. at 8% body fat! People admired my transformation and now I am able to inspire many others by encouraging them to know it’s possible! It just takes time. I’ll finish with these two quotes:
“When you want to succeed as bad as you want to breathe, that’s when you’ll be successful.” (Not only that, but be patient with your transformation.)
“A Toyota is built in six weeks but a Rolls Royce takes six months.”
Embrace your body as it is, but never be satisfied.
