Q: What is the coolest testimonial you’ve ever received about your products?
A: “I don’t mean to sound like a cliché advertisement, but I have to admit that Promax Bars, along with the wheel and fire, are one of the greatest man-made things ever. Roughly 2 years ago, I was an obese kid that weighed about 225 pounds. I never bothered with the whole exercise and healthy nutritional life-style, but one day I walked into a 7-11 store and wanted a candy bar. Tired of candies such as Resses and other sugary good, I looked around for something new. To my recollection, I remember seeing a double-fudge Promax bar and became strangely curious. I didn’t bother to read the label because frankly, I didn’t care. So I bought it, tried it and became addicted. Little did I know these bars were definitely a healthy alternative to candy, and in most cases, a full meal. Slowly I started becoming more health conscious, and after about a year of NOT working out, but eating Promax bars rather than unhealthy meals, I shed 25 pounds. Again, I hate saying… Anyway, I started working out a few months ago at 24 Hour Fitness, and not only did I become more muscular, but I also lost another 25 pounds. I’m about 170 now and better than I have ever been in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. In fact, I inspired my cousin to lose weight, too. It’s not hard to determine how he’ll be doing that though. Q: What’s the history behind your bar flavor, Black Forest Cake?
A: Black Forest Cake originated in southern Germany and is a popular desert around the world. You may find many versions of this cake, but the traditional Black Forest “gateau” consists of several layers of chocolate cake with whipped cream and cherries between each layer. Then the cake is decorated with additional whipped cream, maraschino cherries and chocolate shavings. If you’ve never tried Black Forest Cake, this might just be the next experiment for your kitchen. OR, you could just indulge in Promax’s Black Forest Cake Bar!
Q: What can you see out the window of your headquarters?
A: Located along the Orange County, California coast, our office is buzzed by large jets flying out of John Wayne Airport (SNA) - which we can see taking off or landing (depending on the direction of the winds that day).
Q: How long does it take to develop a new Promax product?
A: Taking a Promax product from concept to completion is no easy task. In developing a new flavor, our R&D Team blends numerous ingredients to achieve just the right taste. Adding a new flavor to an existing line of products generally takes 4 to 5 months. New projects, involving new products, may require a year of development. When new technologies are involved it may take as long as 18 months to complete the R&D process. We may go through 50 or 60 formulations before we get it right..
