1994
The development of Promax Bars began, when Mike Walls, the founder of the company, decided it was time the world had a great tasting energy bar. The directions were very specific: Adults had to love what they saw on the label, and everyone had to love the taste. It took more than two years to get it right. Before launching the line, Promax conducted a nationwide taste test.
The Promax Bar outscored the leading competitors by as much as 12 to 1. In fact, Promax won every category including taste, mouth feel, and overall satisfaction. While taste launched the Promax Bar, it’s the energy, health, and training benefits that make the bar enduring.
2006
The company was purchased by Marwit Capital, a well-respected private equity firm. Marwit’s goal was to add resources and develop new products in order to expand the Promax Nutrition brand as well as broaden its national distribution.
2010
Promax introduced two new great tasting bars, Rocky Road and German Chocolate Cake, which continue the Promax tradition of providing great tasting bars with a strong nutritional profile. The Rocky Road bar has a great new texture with almond pieces and mini marshmallows. The German Chocolate Cake combines a chewy, German chocolate core with tasty bits of sweet coconut while smothered in a milk chocolate coating.
2011
Promax launched an update to the look of the bar line, but for the most part kept the same great tasting bars within, making small improvements to the Chocolate Peanut Crunch, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, and Lemon Bar flavors.
The product line is also being expanded. Promax LS is a new line of stevia sweetened lower sugar energy bars with only 9 grams of sugar and 14 grams of fiber. Promax LS is available in Peanut Butter Chocolate and Chocolate Fudge flavors.
Promax is launching a new marketing campaign with the tagline Promax. Life is Go. The campaign celebrates the multi-faceted lives of Promax users, the everyday warriors who make the most of each day
