Why do Promax protein bars contain different types of natural sweeteners?
Promax protein bars are designed with different sweeteners to help optimize glycemic response. Some natural sweeteners, like dextrose, enter the bloodstream rapidly. Others, such as fructose, break down much slower. In a meal or nutrition supplement, when a profile of varying levels of sugars are combined with protein and fat, it creates a product that gradually increases blood glucose levels (associated with energy levels) and maintains them for an extended period of time.
Why do you include vitamins and minerals in some Promax protein bars?
Similar to a balanced whole food meal or snack, Promax Original bars provide our bodies with beneficial amounts of carbohydrates, protein, dietary fat, and vitamins and minerals. Carbohydrates , protein and fat are known as macronutrients. Vitamins and minerals are known as micronutrients. They work together synergistically to support energy regulation, metabolism, digestion, immunity, lean tissue and bone maintenance, hormonal response, and a myriad of other important bodily functions. Promax Original bars are an excellent source of 18 essential vitamins and minerals.
Are Promax protein bars made with high-quality protein?
Absolutely. All of the proteins in Promax protein bars (soy, whey and milk casein) are complete proteins, which contain all nine amino acids, the building blocks of every structure in our body. Each of these three protein sources has the highest Protein Digestibility-Corrected Amino Acid Score (PDCAAS) of 1, indicating they are all complete proteins. Promax energy bars do not contain any gelatin, an incomplete protein source typically derived from processing pigs and cow skins and hoofs, which has a PDCAAS score of 0.
Do Promax protein bars contain a beneficial amount of protein?
Yes. Promax protein bars are an excellent source of high quality, complete protein. They contain 20g of Protein per bar and provide between 36- 40% of the recommended daily intake of protein (based on FDA guidelines) depending on the particular bar. The amount of protein in a Promax Original bar is the equivalent grams of protein to eating 3 large eggs (21g protein), two cups of low-fat milk (22g protein) or 4 ounces of canned tuna (20g protein). Protein is an important part of a balanced nutrition program because it contains amino acids that are the building blocks of every structure in our body, including skin, hair, nails, muscle tissue, hormones and the immune system. Nine of these amino acids are classified as essential, meaning they cannot be manufactured by our bodies and must come from food. The protein in Promax energy bars helps the body recover after exercise, form new tissue and regulate key body functions.
Are Promax protein bars free from artificial sweeteners, flavors and colors?
Yes. Promax protein bars contain NO artificial flavors, sweeteners or colors. That includes no sucralose, aspartame, ace-K or sodium benzoate.
Which Promax protein bars are certified kosher?
All Promax bars are certified kosher.
Which Promax protein bars are gluten-free?
All Promax bars are certified gluten-free by the GFCO (Gluten Free Certifying Organization). The GFCO defines the standard for gluten-free as less than 10 ppm which is half the proposed FDA standard of 20 ppm gluten. GFCO certification requires that each ingredient has been evaluated and approved by the GFCO as gluten-free. In addition, strict standards have been set in the manufacturing facility to assure no cross-contamination. Finally, the finished product is tested as final assurance that Promax bars comply with the GFCO certification.
Why are Promax protein bars good to consume post-workout?
The goal of your post-workout snack is to provide proteins to muscles so they can begin the recovery process (which can help prevent muscle soreness, and help repair muscle tissue) and provide carbohydrates to restore muscle and liver glycogen levels and to help stabilize your blood sugar. Promax bars are an excellent post-workout snack as they provide a good carb to protein ratio and 18-20g of high quality protein to help you maximize your workout recovery.
Are Promax protein bars just for athletes or bodybuilders?
No, Promax protein bars are not just for athletes or bodybuilders. They offer portable nutrition for on- the-go moms/dads or busy professionals who, at some point in the day, skip a meal or snack on junk food. You can utilize Promax protein bars to fill in daily gaps where you typically skip a meal or make an unfavorable food choice. Promax protein bars can complement a proper, whole food diet.
